Our Languages
What type of language experiences are introduced at Spanish Song N' Sign?
Spanish Language
“Early exposure to different languages help children become familiar with different linguistic sounds, rhythm and patterns. All while building awareness and cultural connection.
Music as a Universal Language
“Singing and music support listening, memory, language, rhythm, and social interaction while making learning joyful and engaging. Music conveys emotions and meaning across cultures through shared acoustic and cognitive patterns”
American Sign Language
“Signing gives children an additional way to communicate even before they can express themselves verbally, supporting early communication and connection between parent and child.
“Together, Spanish, Music and American Sign Language create a playful,
consistent/cohesive and fun way for parent and child to learn, communicate, and connect”

What do I actually get from this program?
"You'll be taken through your day with your child, every part of your routine.
You'll familiarize yourself with original songs, a wide mixture of signs in ASL, and a broad Spanish vocabulary to carry into your everyday life.
Learning how to turn the ordinary moments with your child into moments of connection”

But what about nap time?
Whether a younger infant falls asleep, or class time interferes with nap time, we invite you to bring them along and rest on the go. Our program is firstly about teaching you (the caregiver) tools to sign and communicate through song bilingually.

Our Creative Team

Sofia Sanchez
Spanish Coordinator & Co-Director
As a Latin woman raising a child in an English-speaking country, I value spaces where bilingualism is encouraged and inclusivity is a given.
I bring my love of the Spanish language to our community by creating a space where littles can explore language through many mediums while parents feel included and part of the learning journey.

Kelly Zielasko
ASL Coordinator & Co-Director
As a Mom to a 9-month-old, I get it parents! Parenthood can be isolating & leave us feeling like we half exist. From my experience as a Swim Instructor and Paramedic, I know firsthand how both infants and parents need other people to relate with on a regular basis. Beyond learning, I hope you feel how our program places emphasis on friendship and community. Currently receiving ASL certification through the Canadian Hearing Association.
Our Mission
“Joy for today. Learning for tomorrow. Connection that lasts.”
Our Core Values
How we achieve them:

JOY
We create a joyful environment for parents and children alike. A place for littles to explore, sing, and discover while parents get an opportunity to have fun and be present.

LEARNING
We understand that parents and children are constantly learning. Littles are introduced to different languages and communication styles, while parents gain simple tools and ideas to naturally incorporate into everyday life.

CONNECTION
We value opportunities for parents and children to connect through shared experiences. Through our program, families build meaningful moments that strengthen their bond.

INCLUSION
We invite everyone, because everyone belongs. We strive to create a welcoming, respectful and judgement free environment where everyone and their background is valued and celebrated.

COMMUNITY
It takes a village. We want Spanish Song N’ Sign to be more than a class. We want it to be a place where parents can meet, build friendships, share experiences, and feel supported by a community of families navigating parenthood together.
